Grandmother's Hope Chest French Sewing by Machine Written by Martha Campbell Pullen, Ph.D.- (Paper Back) Book & Pattern -Previously Loved
Included in this 400 page book and the adjoining pattern envelope are instructions for everything you might want to make for a new baby, from lace ballet bootees and infant day gowns to wall hangings and wrist rattles. Among the sewing techniques Martha shares with her readers are French sewing by machine, lace shaping, English smocking, and shadow embroidery. The patterns, sized small, medium, and large or 8 -18 months, include bubbles, bonnets, bibs, and yoke dresses. There are more than 150 shadow embroidery designs and 13 graphed smocking plates. The book's section of 16 brand new christening gown designs is probably the greatest collection of heirloom gowns ever published.
This book is out of print and has been loved by others but is in good condition with some wear on the dust jacket and pattern cover. The pattern has not been cut.
